On December 14th, 2024, I proposed to Amaya. She wasn't picky about any of the details except for one: it had to be a surprise. Anything I planned that was at a nice or picturesque location would be suspect. So, I enlisted some help.
Vanessa, her mom, would invite her out for a little "mother-daughter" day trip to Lakeland to try a ramen place and a Japanese dessert store in downtown. Unbeknownst to her, myself and our families would be there as well. I got with everyone, including her dad who lives out of state, to decide on a date and time.
I was worried at every step that she would find out somehow. Would she see my chat messages with her dad, her mom, or our friends who I spoke about this with? Would someone accidentally refer to a secret conversation we had while in front of Amaya? Thankfully, as you can see below, it went perfectly! She had no idea what was happening until I walked up to her.
